Hugin, Knabstrupper-stallion, born 1986:
Hugin was the "Grand-senior" in the stable.
He has accompanied me on the way to the Academic Art of Riding. As a youngster he had an accident in which he broke both his haunches and broke the splint bone in
his left frontleg. For more than 15 years he has been totally blind. With him, I learned not to use the horse for the dressage, but the dressage for the horse. Hugin died in 2015 at the age of
29.
Tyson, Frederiksborger-gelding, born : 1995
When Hugin was around 12 years old I started to look around for the next generation of horses and went to a Frederiksborger breeding show. I saw a beautiful chestnut stallion and asked for the price but he was not for sale. Then, somebody came with a black stallion with an awful behavior, a long weak back and short, bad, turning legs. He offered the horse for just 1000 DM to me. I said: "No, thank you." But the horse looked directly into my eyes and said: "I am your horse." I answered:" No way!" and went home. I was not able to forget the horse and a few weeks later I took Tyson home.
Zarif, Frederiksborger-stallion, born : 1997
As I decided to have another Frederiksborger I asked friends to go and look for me to have a correct horse with a good mind without injuries and well brought up. His flat hip was the only thing that made the education a bit more difficult, but his strong mind helps to overcome. Never turn a Frederiksborger against you - make him work for you. Zarif died at the age of 20 after short but severe illness.
Swan, PRE Stallion, born 2007:
When I found Swan, I was not planning to buy a horse. With the traditional high movement, carrying from behind with a free shoulder, beautiful balance and mind, grown up wild in the mountains together with his brothers - I simply could not resist.
Dorado spanish stallion, born 2012 :
I am curious to see how this little, brave horse will develop. He has a sound body, good movements and a very fine character.
